Fusing 101: Introduction to Fusing and Slumping
Dates:
- May 3rd & 10thd
$95. Class includes all glass & taxes and 2 firings (1 fusing, 1 slumping) and handouts. Experience with cutting glass is not a pre-requisite.

Fusing 201: Strip Fusing

F-202: Advanced Combing
Utilizing new stainless steel combing trays, you will fill your tray with a colourful glass design, and then comb it in one of the many various ways in a Hot Box Kiln, and then transfer it to a larger kiln for proper annealing.

$75, all glass, firings and taxes included. Combing trays used in class may be purchased afterward at a special price. Using a wet tile saw to trim the finished project and coldworking it using a lap wheel will be demonstrated as well.

Learn how to make original rondels using scrap System 96 glass with a simple 4" clay pot in your kiln. Ways to load your glass into your clay pot, colour selection, firing programs, pot modifications and more will be discussed and demonstrated.

Fusing 401: Moldmaking
Learn how to make your own molds using hydrocal plaster and vermicullite.

In this class you will use Uroboros glass billets to cast glass over a 3-D shape you have created.

Fusing 502: Fritography
Learn how to create a picture on glass with frit.

Fusing 503: Colour de Verre Small Frit Casting

F-504: Colour de Verre: Frit & Strip Plate Casting
More fun with frits, this time soldering a 10" circle and design out of 1" copper strips, and filling with frit to fuse together a playful plate that can be slumped into a bowl. Be the first on your block to have one!

J-103: Cabochans
Using a small kiln, quickly create beautiful fused jewelry, just in time for the holidays. Some fusing and glass experience is helpful, but not required. Various ways of wearing and mounting also will be discussed.

Painting
P-101 Introduction to Traditional Glass Painting
Using Reusche paints, learn tracing & matting, how to use silver stains and enamels, and the new technique of Vitrifusalle. This class is intensive, with multiple firings and various projects on the go over the weekend.
