Fusing 101: Introduction to Fusing and Slumping

This class will explore the world of warm glass. Learn about the different forms of glass that can go into the kiln, how kilns work, how to use some of the advanced tools of the trade, make a stuning bowl or plate, and more!

$120. Class fee includes all glass, HST, and 2 firings (1 fusing, 1 slumping) and handouts. Experience with cutting glass is not a pre-requisite.

Fusing 2: Intermediate Warm Glass

This new class is designed to let you explore your warm glass horizons in our workshop. You will have access to our massive collection of clay and stainless steel slumping and draping molds, Colour de Verre open faced casting molds, small, medium and large kilns, Vitriograph kiln, wet saw, frit maker, frit sifters and circle cutters to create your masterpieces. Try some Kaiser Lee Board or fibre-paper, board or blanket to create textures.

4 Saturday afternoons – 12:00pm to 4:30pm

Dates

  • January 22, 29, February 7 and 14.

$195. Class fee includes all firings, use of tools and molds, and HST. Glass is not included! Experience with kiln forming glass is a pre-requisite.

Private Jewelry Making Party Nights!

Join us for a fun evening with up to 10 of your friends, family or co-workers and make lots of beautiful fused glass jewelry! We demonstrate how easy it is to cut stained glass, show you all of the different kinds of glass that can be used on your jewelry, and discuss the various options available for wearing your finshed pieces. Then you can boogie the night away making fab-u-lous fused jewelry! No experience with glass is required. Warning! This class is highly addictive!

J-102: Introduction to Bead Making

Learn how to make stunning glass beads out of colourful glass rods with a torch.

Classes run from 9am to 4pm.

Intermediate Beadmaking

Go beyond the basics and try out new materials, shapes, tools and techniques. Use Dichroic Wave Styx, Millifiorie, or Reduction Frit. Try encasing or combing, making your own stringers, and more! Experience making beads on a Hot Head torch is required.

Painting

P-101 Introduction to Traditional Glass Painting

Using Reusche paints, learn tracing & matting, how to use silver stains and enamels, and the new technique of Vitrifusalle. This class is intensive, with multiple firings and various projects on the go.

$220.00. Includes lunch, use of all tools & paints, firings, and HST.
