This is a true story. Only the names have been changed to protect the identity of the teller of the story. Let us call the young lady in question in this story, oh, I don't know, let's call her "Maureen".
One day Maureen went out and got a job in a local restaurant down in the Market. It was her first job as a waitress.
She was a little nervous at first, carrying all of plates and glasses on large trays. After a few days she got better at it, and moved with more confidence. Then one day during a busy lunch hour, she was carrying a large tray full of drinks through the kitchen and somehow lost her grip on the tray and dropped it. The glasses fell and shattered on the tile floor.
Everybody in the kitchen froze and stared at her. The head chef, we'll call him "Nick", came running in and saw the dangerous mess on the floor. Sharp shards of glass had flown all over the kitchen. Nobody could do anything until this mess had been cleaned up.
Nick quickly realized that the new girl, Maureen, had dropped the tray. In his best Gordon Ramsey Voice, he shouted, " You! Run next door to the Three Purple Flowers kitchen and grab their Glass Magnet! NOW!!!" So Maureen ran as fast as she could out of the her kitchen, through her restaurant, out the door, down the sidewalk, burst into the Three Purple Flowers kitchen and shouted as loudly as she could, "I NEED YOUR GLASS MAGNET RIGHT NOW!!!"
Everybody in that kitchen stopped and stared at her, then burst into gales of laughter. At that point Maureen remembered that there is no metal in glass, so a magnet is useless in cleaning up broken glass, and that Nick owned both restaurants.
