New Contest

In keeping with the hockey theme, who will win the Stanley Cup this season? Kevin does not like my next comment but - Who the Hell CARES? He is the sports fan, not me.

Contest opens the day you get this, and will end on May 1st.

Enter as often as you like, draw of all winning selections will be the day after the Cup is won, and the prize will be something good, but we don't know what yet. There was something here in the editing, but I could not read it so you will have to ask at the store. I would really like the prize to be No sports on TV for a year

Only in America... do we use the word 'politics' to describe the process so well: 'Poli' in Latin meaning 'many' and 'tics' meaning 'bloodsucking creatures'. Go to this URL, see the end of the world... www.shibumi.org/eoti.htm

December 2000 Contest

Winners of our last contest have won a week on their favourite lighthouse. It has no running water, hydro, etc. Makes you wonder about all this survivor stuff , living like that is normal in some parts of Canada.

Old contest winners:
Well, last issue's bevy of contests resulted in a mixed bag of...results..

Our first contest was to guess how many hours of sleep Kevin would get in December. The X-factor in this for him was his new son, Andrew Morgan, who didn't like sleeping lying down.

Well, the numbers were crunched, and the answer was 152 hours over 31 days, which works out to 4.9 hours per night.

The winner was Shawn Dunlop, who guessed 151 hours.

For his efforts, Shawn will treated to 2 tickets to the senators game vs. the Anaheim Mighty Ducks at the Corel Centre on March 16th. He said he will be taking his girlfriend, Sadie, to the game who is much more fun than his wife.. Lucky.

The second contest was to guess which Thursday or Sunday that the Store was staying open in December that was also Dave B.'s birthday.

The winner was Kim Dudioff, who correctly guessed the answer ( I may want to use this contest again so that's a secret).

Kim gets a $25.00 Gift Certificate for her answer.

The third contest has become a bit of a sore spot around here. Kevin and I both picked the same name out of the contest entries, but were overruled by Mr. Decisive, (Mr. Tappin) and no winner was selected.

The name for the little kitty cat that now works here with us is still little kitty, which is going to be funny when he becomes a big fat lazy cat in a few years. So please direct all your questions about the kitty's name, or lack thereof, to the big boss man, David Tappin. He will be pleased to discuss it with you.
