April 26th to 29th, Corning, NY. This is your last chance to get on board to learn from the pros this year. We are planning to make this an annual pilgrimage one of the great glass meccas. So all of you out there who said "next year for sure!", save your pennies, book off vacation time at work, and bribe your significant other by whatever means necessary.
Our associate, Chris Van Zanten, has graciously offered to hold a Glass Blowing Demonstration for our customers, on Sunday, April 9th, 12:00pm to 5:00pm at his studio up near Pakenham. He will demonstrate how rondels, balls, pattys, and glasses are made. If you which to try your hand at creating your very own blown glass creation, the fee is $50. If you think you want to try it, please let us know so we know how many to expect. If you do make a blown glass object, it will have to anneal in his kilns on site. You can pick it up later in the week from us here at SGS. Leave your info and we'll call you when it's in.
Please bring a pair of safety glasses to wear in the studio, and wear comfortable cotton clothing.
If you need a ride, please contact Kevin and he will co-ordinate transportation to Pakenham.
