Hot Flashes
A recurring section in our newsletter has been letters from the Far Side ( better known as Chris's Column) which is now renamed to "HOT FLASHES". Chris in association with the "KISS MY GLASS" studio in Merrickville [Yup, the one featured on Canada AM where Browen ( proprietor & glass artist) and Chris helped the CTV roadhost Jeff have a blowout on live TV. It was unrehearsed and a lot of fun]. Has been working up a storm and blowing on every thing he could find at at 'K.M.G.
Chris escaped to South Carolina for a week to do hot glass work at the Conway Glass Studio "Summerhouse", all the while grazing on the southern fares of shellfishes and the like. Serves him right to drive back into a snow storm-eh?
Some new hot blown glass work will be at S.G.S very soon and makes great gift ware at a modest price. Things like Night Lights and Monday Morning Glasses (for times when life gets a bit too serious) as well as some neat accent lights and candle accessories and more ornaments then you can shake a tree at.
HOT FLASH ... of note ... starting in January - 2 day intro hot glass classes on weekends are coming to Kiss My Glass studio (sounds like a great way to stay warm this winter) so you can make your own paper weights & blown ornaments too.
