Glass Blowing

Kiss My Glass, 109 Brock St. W, P.O. Box 623, Merrickville, 613.269.4102, offers a 2 Day Introduction to Glass Blowing Workshop, for $275, all taxes & supplies included.

David Paterson's Glass Blowing Studio, 613.269.2129, 224 St. Lawrence St, open 11-5 daily until Christmas.

Kevin Robert Gray, 635 St. Lawrence St., in the Red & Gold Studio, 613.269.7979.

All 3 are in Merrickville, 15 minutes west of Kemptville, which is 20 south of Ottawa on the 416 highway.

There also is a master bead maker in the region who offers courses, Alex Hamilton in Manotick, at 692-1260. He offers a Hot Glass Bead & Flameworking course, 10 weeks long, 3 hours a week, $450, incl taxes & materials, 6 students.

Starts week of Sept 13th., until the week of Nov 15th. Monday or Friday 7-10pm, or Tuesday or Thursday 9am to 12pm.

New Painting Class!

P-101 Introduction to Traditional Glass Painting

Saturday and Sunday, 9am to 5pm, $ 195, 6 people per class

January 8th & 9th

Using Reusche paints, learn tracing & matting, how to use silver stains and enamels, and the new technique of Vitrifusalle. This class is intensive, with multiple firings and various projects on the go over the weekend. The paints used are lead-free. (Taxes, lunch, & use of all tools & paints are included.)
