New Mailing Service For Stained Glass StuffAs many of you know, we offer the popular Stained Glass News free to be picked up in store. It has been brought to our attention that many of our customers do not live within easy commuting distance of our store, and cannot just drop in to get a copy. So in an effort to expand the number of unique services offered at SGS, we will now be offering a mailing service for SGN. For $5 a year, $7 for U.S.A. delivery, or $15 for international delivery (all amounts are in Canadian dollars). We will mail you a copy of SGN and a pattern sheet for the cover project for one year. SGN comes out at the start of February, May, September, and November each year. We require a credit card number from you (Visa or MasterCard ) that we will keep on a secure file in the store. After we have sent you a year's worth, we will renew your 'subscription' automatically for another year unless you inform us that you do not want it anymore. If we get your issue returned to us due to your having moved, we will cancel it with no refund on the balance, so please let us know of your new address in advance of moving. |
Special 15 Year Anniversary IssueLong ago ( 15 years ) and far away in a galaxy a lot like this one, a skinny little Dilbert type pipe engineer named David left the cubicle forest that he and the other pipe engineers lived in and started out looking for adventure and the meaning of life. During his quest this engineer wandered aimlessly around the world as he knew it (Westboro). He had been working in the cubicle forest a long time and was amazed by some of the strange and wonderous things that he encountered in the world out side, things like bright sunlight, trees, flowers, liquid in glass bottles, etc. One morning as the skinny engineer was arising from his cardboard box in the alley behind the church were he slept, he noticed a ray of sunshine coming though the stained glass windows of the church. This ray of light triggered something in the artistic part of the engineering brain he had, a part that he had never used when he was trapped in the cubicle forest. He thought back to his youth where he had faint recollections of experiencing things like beauty and creativity, and as the ray of light intensified, the energy it obtained from the stained glass grew stronger and suddenly his quest was over; he had discovered his true vocation. He was to teach, nurture and guide others like him who had discovered the beauty and joy of stained glass. So he rented an narrow little store and stocked it with a cornucopia of stained glass and stained glass paraphernalia. As time went on, word of the little stained-glass store grew and it was visited by more and more of those people who sought to escape the confines of the cubicle forest and enrich that part of themselves that enjoyed beauty and creativity. Many years have passed since that morning when the engineer emerged into the ray of light and discovered his true destiny . Many strange and interesting people have crossed the threshold of the narrow little store. The really strange ones have stayed around and are now called STAFF. The narrow little store has been twice replaced with bigger stores. A variety of mystical creatures called pets have inhabited the store and they too have befriended all who have entered. This story has no end, because there are many more adventures yet to be had by the skinny engineer named David. And most importantly this story would not be a story at all if were not for you, The stained glass community, our customers who have chosen to make Stained Glass Stuff part of your hobby. Most of all, we thank you for your support and patronage over the last fifteen years. Thank you. |
