Spring Cleaning

If you can see over the snow banks, and have not frozen to death while you were out shoveling the driveway you might start to believe that spring is in the air. (In the week since I started this, the weather has changed completely and is now warm) Hard to believe, but "yes" spring is here.

Things have been warm and toasty here at Stained Glass Stuff with Kevin running all the kilns all the time. He has been melting the student projects from the fusing 101 class into colorfully shaped glass articles like bowls, plates, and if things go bad blobs.

Dave has been trying not to burn the hair off of his face while playing with the HOT HEAD bead torch in the lamp room. There are lots of would be bead and jewelry makers out there who can't wait to start playing with fire.

Chris has been busy out in Merrickville where he has been perfecting his hot glass techniques making glasses, bowls, and his dragon balls.

In addition to ferrying Kitty around in his carrier, David has continued doing most of the design, repair, and ordering activities for the store. Despite all this effort on his part he has of course found time to go off on another holiday. This time he has gone somewhere out west. People think my grasp on sanity is loose, but I never went to Regina and Calgary in February! (Sudbury a warm toxic place.) Only a real Canadian would be crazy enough to do that.

In between all of this activity you will have noticed that there is a lot more Stuff at the store. We have been trying to respond to your requests and have been expanding the product lines.

* Note: many of you have seen products advertised in Stained Glass News and requested then or have questioned the availability of some other products you may have seen at other glass shops.

Some of the products that you will see in Stained Glass News are available in the States only and others we have found not to be up to the quality standard of the products that we carry already. A product may be a little cheaper but if it is going to break or cause problems for the user, it is not in out best interest as a retailer to sell these products.

If however you have your heart set on a product that we do not normally sell we will, if we can, order the item for you.

Some of the areas you will notice expanding in the future is the stocked glass section. Watch for more Bullseye's, regular and fusing, Spectrums system 96, slumping molds and form, as well as all the assorted chemicals and books.
