A 2 day class with 4 students gives you lots of furnace time. You will make paperweights, friendship balls, oil lamps and other neat stuff. $265 + tax, all materials & use of shop tools included.
We were very pleased to have hosted Kent Lauer for 4 days of gluing, grinding and polishing dichroic and Starphire glass in mid November. 17 students had a wonderful time learning the various stages that allowed them to create stunning Dichroic Faceted Pendants and Sculptures. There will be a review on our website at some point in the near future.
We would also like to thank Melanie from Glowing Panes in Thornhill who gave a great presentation on Glasscasting with Fusing/Slumping Powder to a packed room during our November Friday Night Fusing Clinic. Notes and pictures from that evening will be up on our website in the usual place shortly. The piece of art Mel made is here in our studio. Drop in to get a close look at what is possible with her magical powder.
We are very lucky to have Patty Gray visiting us again this spring. She will be teaching two different workshops. The first will be her standard Three Day Advanced Fusing Techniques workshop. This class is already full, but we do have a waiting list just in case of any cancellations.
The second class is going to be a Four Day Intensive Architectural Components. There are still spots in this class as this is going to print. This class will cover, among other things, larger scale projects, like sinks, lighting fixtures, tiles, countertops, and how to install them. The class fee is $840, all inclusive.
We are very pleased to announce that Michael Dupille will be teaching a Three day Fritography class, touching on Installations, and maybe some Casting with Castalot, time permitting, here on Wednesday, September 9th to Friday September 11th, 2009. This class will be limited to 12 students with some fusing experience required. A deposit of $150 will secure a spot in this great class.
Come learn from one of the pioneers of kiln formed glass during his first time teaching in Canada. His website has images of some of the fantastic art he creates:
