This Just In!!
(April 11, 2006)

Greetings from Stained Glass Stuff, where our 19th Anniversary Big Spring Sale is still in effect until the end of the month. Thanks to everybody who made the drive up to Chris's glassblowing Open House in Pakenham yesterday afternoon. If you made a ball or some other blown piece of art, Chris should be dropping them off tomorrow afternoon at our store.

One of our employees has returned from Las Vegas and brought back a few interesting items, details below. Some of the new things at the show which were not available yet were Spectrum's new System 96 "Spirit" line of glass. That's the clear glass base with the cats' eye streaks of colour on the surface. It should be out in the summer, if the boys at Spectrum can iron out the wrinkles. Uroboros has a new System 96 colour, Cherry Blossom, a 2 toned pink opal, very nice, also due from release this summer.

Don Abel from Morton Glass Works was demonstrating him newest toy, a circle border segment cutting system. The system will be a few more parts for your Morton Maxi Board and Portable Glass Shop and a CD with a computer program that you input the details about what you want to cut out, and it will tell you exactly how to set it up. He was showing it off, and it works as advertised, very cool! Great for fused plates or bowls.

A more detailed report on the 2006 Glass Craft & Bead Expo will be posted in the near future on our website, with pictures.
