Misha was a big part of our store and our lives. Chances are that if you had ever dropped into Stained Glass Stuff you had met our lovable pet. We are keeping up all of these pictures of Misha to remember her with. Click on the images to enlarge. Please remember to use your browser's BACK button to return to this page.
March 19th, 2001 was a sad day here at Stained Glass Stuff. Misha, our great white rug of a dog, had to be put to sleep due to a losing battle she was having with a bone cancer in her front right leg. She was a brave doggie right up to the end. She was 6 and a half years old.
Misha was a Great Pyrennes Mountain Dog. That breed is from the Pyrennes Mountains, between France and Spain. They were bred as sheep herders and protectors of the flock. Misha maintained many aspects of her heritage. She loved to herd everybody around, and also get to the highest point possible, and just watch everything go by. Her average weight was about 115 pounds.
We will be keeping all of her photos up on our website as a kind of virtual memorial to her. David is in the process of creating some kind of memorial for her, and we will keep you posted with its development.
Assuming Misha's job of Official Greeter and Door Watcher is Little Kitty. Kitty was an orphan found by the boss one fall Sunday afternoon along the Rideau Canal in some bushes. He was cold, dirty, hunger and a complete mess. He was brought home, and Misha helped to clean him up and kept him warm. They became friends, and Misha taught him everything about what to do while at work here at Stained Glass Stuff. He misses his adopted mommy in the mornings, but comes to work everyday to continue in Misha's role as the real boss of the store.
There will be more photos of Kitty posted to this part of the website as we take them. We will still post photos of all of Misha and Kitty's friends on the website if you bring them in for us, or we can take a photo of them together here in the store.
